We are pleased to announce that in June of this year, a handcrafted Armenian khachkar (cross-stone), brought from Armenia, was installed in the entrance courtyard of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia. Notably, it is considered the first and only khachkar of its kind in all of India.

This long-awaited project was carried out under the leadership of Ambassador Vahagn Afyan, with the coordination of Embassy Counselor Marat Melikyan, based on the proposal initiative of former Diaspora Youth “Ambassador” Anush Gasparyan, and through the patronage of Shivkumar Easwaran, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Armenia in Chennai.
